People whose lives have been touched by the loss of a baby during pregnancy or just after birth are uniting with others across the UK to show their support for the Baby Loss Awareness campaign 2010, which focuses on International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day on October 15th.

As in previous years, we are encouraging a number of Wave of Light and other events across the UK. Please see the Events page for the most up-to-date details. Our volunteers are organising a range of fundraising activities and events, and if you'd like to join them, please contact us. Fundraising ideas are available on the Resource page, and advice regarding any proposed event is always on hand by getting in touch with the Campaign Co-ordinator.

We also hope that health and social care workers will be able to display our poster, information leaflet and ribbon pins in their clinics and surgeries.

Ribbon pins will be available in return for a suggested minimum donation of £1. These can be ordered by post, or in bulk by completing the necessary forms available on the Ribbons page.

We hope that the Awareness campaign will give bereaved parents, their families and friends the opportunity to commemorate the brief lives of their babies. With the purchase of a ribbon pin, you will be supporting the organisations in their vital work with bereaved families and health and social care workers.

Please visit the links on the left for further details.

Baby Loss Awareness campaign group exists to:

  • Promote October 15th as National Baby Loss Awareness Day* within the UK.
  • Promote the annual Global Wave of Light* events and services where parents can acknowledge their losses.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of the impact of pregnancy and baby loss among health and social care workers and the community at large.

*Baby Loss Awareness Day, including the "Wave of Light" events and services, are products devised as a result of collaboration involving the support charities/organisations operating in the area of pregnancy and baby loss.  The work of each charity/organisation is promoted without preference at all times.
