Sharon’s story

Sharon’s story

“15 miscarriages, 1 ectopic pregnancy several failed IUI’s and 2 IVF’s later: our journey to becoming parents was far from straight forward.

Years of miscarriages. Each and everyone feels like yesterday. I was told I wouldn’t pass 17 weeks of pregnancy given my health conditions but I was determined I would have my chance at being a mum.

Losing Conor and Charley was by far the hardest due to having to bury them both.

When we discovered I was carrying Conor and was further on than previous pregnancies. We dared to get our hopes up, the odds however were against us and sadly we lost Conor.

We had IVF the following year and the first cycle wasn’t successful but the 2nd was. We had our beautiful special Aya, born at 28 weeks and 5 days. She’s now 14.

The year later, in 2011, we lost our wee baby Charley. Again the heart ache began, although we had Aya and were very thankful for her we wanted her to have a sibling so we lived in hope.

In 2012, we had Freya, born at 32 weeks.

Our 15 angels will never be forgotten.”
