Hannah’s Story – Baby Loss Awareness Week

Hannah’s Story

Hannah’s Story

Eddie and I made the decision to try for our much-wanted family and by March 2019, I was pregnant.

We were both so happy. Having supportive families, we told them early on. Naturally I was a little anxious but nothing prepared us for the journey we had started. At my 12 week scan there was no heartbeat and the fetal pole measured 4mm.

After waiting two weeks to confirm, we opted for medical managed followed by surgical management.

We decided in September we were ready to try again. I fell pregnant and It was a week before my 12 week scan and I developed spotting. The scan showed that there was no heartbeat, and pregnancy only measured 5 weeks. A few weeks passed and it came to light I needed surgery again.

After surgery I had to be put on the sepsis pathway. Two missed miscarriages.

It’s been a very distressing time. The photo is of us both with Ipswich Hospital baby bereavement groups memory tree.
